Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Food processor or blender
  • Mixing bowls (medium and large)
  • Measuring spoons and digital kitchen scale
  • Steamer or pot (for broccoli)
  • Small saucepan (for sweet potato)
  • Spoon or spatula (for mixing)

Ingredients

  • 500 g lean beef brisket (muscle meat)
  • 100 g canned sardines in spring water, drained
  • 50 g raw beef liver (or 25g freeze-dried)
  • 50 g raw beef kidney (or 25g freeze-dried)
  • 10 g freeze-dried beef bone
  • 1 whole egg (include eggshell membrane)
  • 50 g raw carrot finely minced or puréed
  • 50 g raw red capsicum (bell pepper) minced or puréed
  • 50 g steamed broccoli
  • 50 g boiled sweet potato
  • 50 g mandarin segments
  • 8 g ground pumpkin seeds (soaked and drained first)
  • 4 g cold-pressed hempseed oil
  • 3 g ground turmeric

Instructions

  • Prepare the Organs and Muscle Meat
Slice the lean beef brisket into small, bite-sized chunks.
Trim and dice the beef liver and kidney (or rehydrate freeze-dried versions in warm water for about 10–15 minutes, then chop).
Prepare the Organs and Muscle Meat 1
  • Drain and Add Sardines
Open the can of sardines, drain off the spring water, and mash the fish lightly with a fork.
  • Handle the Egg and Bone
Crack the whole egg into a small bowl, making sure to include the thin membrane lining the inside of the shell. Discard the outer shell.
Measure out the freeze-dried bone and crush it gently if needed to help mix it evenly later.
  • Chop the Veggies
Carrot and red capsicum should be minced or puréed until fine. A small food processor works well here.
Lightly steam the broccoli until just tender, then chop finely.
Boil the sweet potato until soft, then mash it completely.
    Chop the Veggies
  • Prep the Fruits and Seeds
Peel the mandarin, remove all seeds, and keep the white pith. Cut the wedges into small pieces.
Soak the pumpkin seeds for about 10 minutes, drain, then grind into a coarse powder using a spice grinder or blender.
    Prep the Fruits and Seeds
  • Mix Oils and Seasoning
Measure out the hempseed oil and turmeric powder. Set aside.
    Mix Oils and Seasoning 1
  • Combine Everything
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brisket, organs, mashed sardines, puréed vegetables, sweet potato, and fruit.
Add the egg (with membrane), ground bone, pumpkin seed powder, turmeric, and hempseed oil.
  • Stir and Portion
Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined.
Divide the mixture into daily portions based on your dog’s weight and dietary needs. Store extra servings in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
